Victor Moses had been told that he could become a positive part of Liverpool’s season and he did just that by scoring on his debut against Swansea on Monday night.
The Nigerian, on loan from Chelsea, started for the Mersey-side club and set up chances for Daniel Sturridge in the first half.
Moses scored in the 36th minute after picking up a loose pass from Jonjo Shelvey on the half way line. The Nigerian drove towards the Swansea defence, evaded Chico Flores and placed a good shot past Michel Vorm to give Liverpool a 2-1 lead.
Before then he had created a good heading chance to Sturridge in the 25th minute but Vorm made a terrific save.
In all he was voted Man of the Match with an 8.4 rating. He had a 75% pass accuracy from 33 touches and completed three dribbles, the most for any player on the pitch. Moses was replaced by Raheem Sterling in the 81st minute.
Tweeting after the match, Moses said: “Good point for us but disappointed not to win the game. Amazing feeling to score my first #LFC goal.”
Liverpool moved back to the top of the table with that point and now have 10 points from four matches.

In 2. Bundesliga, Anthony Ujah scored a brace for Cologne as they beat Energie Cottbus 4-0 on Monday.
Ujah, who represented Nigeria at the 2013 Fifa Confederations Cup, scored in the eighth and 29th minutes before being substituted in the 77th minute by Kacper Przybylko.
Ujah also said on Twitter: “What a night. Strong performance from us and happy for my two goals. Thanks to our traveling fans. Come on Fc #effzeh.”
Ujah has now scored four goals in seven games with Cologne third on the table with 13 points from seven matches.
