Toulon are reportedly on the verge of signing Ulster star Ruan Pienaar on a two-year deal.
According to L'Equipe, Pienaar has agreed to join the Heineken Cup champions but at present, there has been no confirmation from Pienaar's current province or Toulon.
If the move does become a reality, it would be a massive blow for Ulster. He has been one of their stand-out players since moving to the province in 2010 and helped guide them to the Heineken Cup final in 2012 and the last stage of the RaboDirect PRO12 in 2013. He has predominantly played at scrum-half for the province but can also cover No.10.
And with Jonny Wilkinson in probably his final season at Toulon, Pienaar, who has 70 caps for South Africa, could cover his departure or take on the scrum-half berth. Toulon already have a number of Springboks on their books with Bakkies Botha, Juan Smith, Michael Claassens, Danie Rossouw, Bryan Habana and Joe van Niekerk all lining up for the team.
