Benzema: Everything fell into place for Madrid

Benzema: Everything fell into place for Madrid
The France international was delighted with his side's display as they got their Champions League campaign off to an emphatic start
Karim Benzema feels everything fell into place for Real Madrid in Tuesday's 6-1 Champions League thrashing of Galatasaray in Istanbul.

The Primera Division side initially struggled against the Turkish champions before ultimately cruising to an impressive victory after the break, as a double from Benzema and a hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo followed Isco's opening goal.

"This evening was one of these moments where everything seemed to fall into place," Benzema told reporters.

"I felt very confident tonight, which obviously reflects in me scoring twice. But all in all the whole team performed well.

"I believe Galatasaray played a very good first half hour; very confident, aggressive, pushing us back a lot. Things changed after Isco scored [on 33 minutes], his goal gave us the necessary boost."

Madrid take on Copenhagen on October 2 in their next Champions League Group B clash.
