Barcelona defeat 'a stitch up', claims Navarro

Barcelona defeat 'a stitch up', claims Navarro
The left-back bemoaned his side's luck as another last-gasp Blaugrana strike evoked painful memories of last season
Fernando Navarro has voiced his frustration after Sevilla succumbed to an agonising late defeat at the hands of Barcelona.

The left-back was adamant that events had conspired against los Rojiblancos to allow the Catalan side to net in the dying seconds of the game, but stopped short of accusing his opponents of cheating.

Sevilla had fought back bravely from 2-0 down to draw level thanks to Ivan Rakitic and a last-minute volley from Coke.

However, despite there only being three minutes added on by the fourth official, the referee let the game continue into a fourth, allowing Alexis Sanchez to fire home from a rebound to rob Unai Emery’s men of a famous comeback.

“Everyone can see it was a stitch up,” blasted the 31-year-old.

“We’re angry. I don’t want to say anything further because I might be suspended for what I have to say.”

It isn’t the first time Navarro and his team-mates have been stung by a Blaugrana late-show. Last season Cesc Fabregas and David Villa both struck late to turn the match as well.
