Masterpiece Pogba 'worth two Bales'

Clubs considering a bid for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba may have to think again after he was put in the same price bracket as an artistic masterpiece by his agent.

Gareth Bale is set to complete a world record transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid, but the estimated €100 million the Spanish club could pay for the Welshman's services is a pittance compared to the surreal price tag placed on Pogba's head by agent Mino Raiola, who also represents AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli.

"[Pogba] is worth more than Bale," Raiola told Sky Sport. "If the Welshman is worth 100 million, then Balotelli and Pogba are worth twice as much. And if Mario is the Mona Lisa, Paul is without doubt a Salvador Dali in terms of how precious and important he is."

The France international opened the scoring in Juve's recent Supercoppa win over Lazio while, with Claudio Marchisio out injured for a month, he is set to feature regularly in the heart of the Bianconeri's midfield.

He caught the eye last season with a string of spectacular goals, and now with Bale close to becoming the world's most expensive player, Raiola says potential bids for Pogba would have to eclipse that.

"With all respect for Bale, Pogba is better," Raiola continued. "[Real Madrid president] Florentino Perez has set Pogba's price by buying Bale. Let's be clear, it's not me valuing him, it's Real Madrid and the laws of the transfer market which dictate that Pogba is worth €200 million."

Pogba, 20, was a FIFA Under-20 World Cup winner for France this summer, captaining the side which defeated Spain in the final in Turkey. He was elected as the tournament's best player.
