Lotus team principal Eric Boullier says it is his preference that Pirelli remains tyre supplier next season.
Michelin confirmed over the Belgian Grand Prix weekend that it is interested in becoming Formula One's next tyre supplier but only if the FIA is willing to make changes to the regulations. The uncertainty has come about due to a lack of a contract between Pirelli and the FIA despite Pirelli having a deal with Bernie Ecclestone and claiming to have agreements with the majority of the teams.
However, with so many technical changes taking effect in 2014 - including the introduction of the new 1.6 litre V6 engines - Boullier says some stability on the tyre manufacturer front would be welcomed.
"We have Pirelli and we are working with them and we are doing everything that we can to obviously make the package better," Boullier said. "It's going to be a complicated winter already and a complicated next year so the less change will maybe be the best."
